As part of our enterprise module we were asked to set up a business on £10 each. Myself and a friend decided to do a collaboration and create a company together called "a curious dream..." We got our name from a line in Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland" storybook which inspired our collection of unique, handmade watches.
We collected an assortment of vintage watches then re-worked with beautiful fabrics to create a scarf wrist tie. We created innovative packaging using glass jam jars which featured out Alice-inspired branding including "Wear Me" swing tags and to add a quirky touch- ingredients labels on the jam jars.

We set up a facebook page as a marketing tool to advertise ourselves and allow people to contact us, as all watches were made to order. We also set up an online boutique on ASOS Market Place and created a collection sold instore at a Leeds based gift shop called Culture Vulture. We also had the opportunity to sell in a vintage store, Bird Yard but unfortunately this involved us having to work for free a couple of days a week each which we just did not have the time to do at that stage with our heavy work load.

Nonetheless our little business was quite successful considering the tiny budget and very little trading period we had. We sold all but 1 of our watches in Culture Vulture and also sold several to friends & family over the Easter holidays when we were both away at home in Scotland. Culture Vulture were so impressed with our product that they have asked us to continue business with them which is something we are currently considering!
